Everything a move abroad actually involves

Shipping the boxes is the straightforward part. What follows is the work that decides whether your move feels controlled or chaotic.

International removals

Full or part household moves by sea, air or road. We survey, pack, load, ship and deliver into your new home — sole-use or shared container, whichever suits your volume and timing.

Packing & export wrapping

Export-standard materials and trained packers. Fragile items, artwork and antiques are wrapped, crated and inventoried to survive months at sea, not just a van ride.

Storage, here or there

Secure containerised storage in the UK before departure, or in-country on arrival when your new home isn't ready. Sealed at your home and never re-handled, billed monthly. Read the storage guide.

Customs & documentation

Import paperwork, valued inventories, quarantine and duty-relief applications prepared and filed on your behalf. This is where most moves go wrong, and where we do our best work.

Pets, vehicles & the rest

Pet relocation with IATA-approved kennels, car and motorcycle shipping, visa and insurance introductions, currency transfer. Arranged alongside the move, not as an afterthought.

Packed for three months at sea

A domestic move asks your furniture to survive an afternoon in a van. An international move asks it to survive a container that will be lifted by crane, stacked six high, and rolled through the swell of two oceans while the temperature swings forty degrees.

So we pack differently. Upholstery is bubble-wrapped and shrouded, timber is corner-protected, glass and ceramics are individually papered and double-boxed, and everything goes into export-grade cartons rather than the single-wall boxes used for a house move across town.

  • Everything is inventoried before it is sealedEach item gets a number, and nothing goes onto the vehicle that isn't on the list you have agreed.
  • The same standard, whoever is on the jobEvery crew works to a written packing specification, and the inventory is checked against it before anything is sealed.

Loaded, sealed and listed

A container is built like a wall. The heaviest items go at the base with the weight spread across the floor, cartons interlock rather than stack loosely, furniture travels in quilted covers, and every void is filled so that nothing can move when the ship rolls in a swell.

When it is full, the doors are closed and a numbered bolt seal is fitted. That number goes on your paperwork before the container leaves the country, and the only people who break it are customs officers and our agent at the far end.

  • You get the seal number in writingAlong with the vessel name and sailing date, so you can follow where your belongings are.
  • Blocked and braced, not just packedTimber bracing across the door and load bars between tiers stop the stack shifting on a long crossing.

Where we move people

Regular consolidated sailings to the destinations below, and agent coverage everywhere else. Transit times are typical door-to-door ranges by sea — air freight is faster and quoted separately.

How your move works

Five stages, one consultant, no handovers between departments.

Survey

A video call, a home visit, or our self survey if you would rather do it yourself. Guessing at this stage is what causes the price to change later.

Fixed quote

A written quote listing exactly what is included, what isn't, and what could change it. You get a named consultant and a direct number.

Packing

Our crew packs to export standard and builds a numbered inventory. Nothing goes on the vehicle that isn't on the list.

Shipping

Container loading, sailing, and customs clearance at both ends. We file the paperwork and tell you where your shipment is.

Delivery

Unloading into the rooms you choose, unpacking, furniture reassembly and packing-debris removal on the same day.

Family-run, worldwide reach. Every move we handle is someone's whole life in transit, and we treat it that way.

Estimate your move in thirty seconds

Tell us roughly what you're moving and where. You'll get an indicative volume, the shipping option that usually suits it, and a typical transit time — then you can send the whole thing to us as an enquiry.

An estimate, not a quotation. Volume varies enormously with what's actually in your cupboards — a video survey takes fifteen minutes and gives you a fixed price.

Questions we're asked most

How far ahead should I book?

Six to eight weeks is comfortable for most destinations. We can work to much shorter notice, but container space and packing crews are finite — especially between June and September, when most families move around the school year.

What decides the price?

Volume first, then destination, then access and services. A three-bedroom house to Auckland costs more than the same house to Marseille because of distance and sailing frequency. Difficult access, long carries, storage and part-deliveries all add cost, which is why we survey rather than guess.

Do I need a home visit, or is video enough?

Video is enough for most moves and takes about fifteen minutes — you walk through the house on your phone and we assess volume and access as we go. For larger properties, or where there are antiques, pianos or awkward access, we'd rather come and look.

Is my shipment insured?

Standard carrier liability is limited and rarely enough. We offer marine transit insurance based on a valued inventory that you complete, so the cover matches what your belongings are actually worth. We'll explain the difference clearly before you decide.

What can't I ship?

Aerosols, paints, fuels, gas cylinders and other hazardous goods are prohibited. Beyond that, restrictions vary sharply by country — food, plants, timber, animal products, wooden furniture and outdoor equipment are commonly quarantined or refused. We'll give you a written list for your specific destination.

Can you store my belongings if my new home isn't ready?

Yes, at either end. Containerised storage in the UK before shipping, or at destination on arrival. It's billed monthly and your goods stay sealed in the same containers they were packed into.
